Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) was founded in line with the Malaysian government's aspiration to further improve the healthcare of Malaysians through state-of-the-art educational technology and training in medical sciences. CUCMS was established officially on 23rd October 2005 under the Private Higher Education Act 1966.
Presently, CUCMS has the distinction of being the only medical sciences university in Cyberjaya, the Asian multimedia centre.
Right at the outset, CUCMS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Defense (MOD), Malaysia, and another MOU with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia. These MOUs would enable the students to utilize the existing excellent health care facilities in the two ministries for their clinical training. We are the first university which has been granted a wide range of access to the excellent and as yet untapped health facilities at the MOD not only for training but also for research. More..
The report of the MQA Rating System for Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia for 2009 (SETARA ’09) has been recently released and unequivocally underscores the importance of the performance of undergraduate teaching and learning in universities and university colleges in Malaysia. We are glad to announce that Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) has been placed in the 4th tier category which signifies a very good standing. The resulting rating system uses a six-tier category with Tier 6 identified as Outstanding and Tier 1 as Weak. The position of the universities and university colleges in the respective tiers was based on their scores.
I would like to extend my congratulations to everybody at CUCMS who has contributed to this ranking of CUCMS. It is hard to set goals and reach them, but you have exceeded expectations and gone above and beyond. You have thoroughly thought of the best possible outcome and have met a difficult challenge. I have faith and hope for continued growth and success of CUCMS in the ensuing years.
