Examination
 
Introduction
 
  • Manage, organize and monitor the examination preparation.
  • Monitor the examination procedures.
  • Restrain the grading system.
  • Manage the preparation and validation of examination slip.
  • Prepare examination result reports to the university administration, the sponsors and students.
  • Facilitate appeal against grade.
  • Govern the analysis and verification of graduate students.

 

Examination Instructions to the Student
 
  • Candidates are not allowed to bring into the examination hall/room reference books, dictionaries of any kind, booklets, diagrams or pieces of paper or any written material, food and drinks or any communications device such as handphone/ PDA  other than standard scientific calculator.
 
  • Candidates shall not take out of the examination hall/room any answer books (used or unused) or question papers in cases where answers are written on the question paper itself.
 
  • Candidates are not allowed to communicate with one another in any manner while the examination is in progress.  Candidates who wish to communicate with invigilators shall raise their hands.
 
  • Candidates  may be admitted late to an examination up to end of the first 30 minutes of the examination. No candidate may leave the exam room during the first 30 minutes of the exam and no candidates can be admitted after the first 30 minutes. A candidate who enters the examination room late should NOT be allowed additional time at the end of the examination. If any candidates who are admitted late to an examination claim that they were unavoidably delayed through no fault of their own, the invigilator must make a note to that effect on the candidates answer books ,starting the time of the candidates’ admission.
 
  • Candidates must:
    Fill in the attendance slips and leave them on the right-hand corner of the table.
    Place their Matriculation Cards on the table for inspection. (COMPULSORY)
    Fill in every information required (matric no., section no., course code, course title, examiner's name, etc) on the cover page of every answer book used.  Candidates are not permitted to write their names on the answer books.
 
  • It is the responsibility of each candidate to ensure that he/she has an adequate supply of pens,pencils, ink , etc., required for an examination. The borrowing of such materials will not be permitted during an examination.
 
  • All rough work must be done on the answer paper only.  Candidates are warned not to tear off pages from the answer books or write on pieces of papers.  All answer papers, whether used or unused, must be left behind in the examination hall. 
 
  • Candidates who wish to retire early from an examination should do so only with the permission of the invigilator . Candidate are not allowed to leave the examination hall 15 minutes before the exam end.They should raise their hand and remain seated at their desk until their answer book has been collected by an invigilator . ON NO ACCOUNT MUST CANDIDATES REMOVE ANSWER BOOKS FROM THE EXAMINATION ROOM.
 
  • Students who are caught cheating such as looking or attempting to look at another student’s paper during an examination or looking or attempting to look at text or notes during an examination will be charged with an academic dishonesty, which at the extreme could involve expulsion from the College.
