This two and half year Diploma in Paramedic Sciences program consists of over 90 credit hour units as required by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. Enrolment would be twice a year (August and February). The programme is designed to acquire the necessary professional skills, knowledge base, core curriculum, technical skills, judgment, maturity, attitudes and Malaysian values; needed for the quality practice of pre-hospital care. Upon successful completion of the first year the student could be eligible for Certificate in Emergency Medical Science Technician – Basic.
The Academic Team consist of professional experienced lecturers and includes experienced emergency medicine trainers with more than 10 years emergency and trauma practice, emergency physicians, medical specialists and various experts in their respective fields.
The Teaching and Training methods are competency based and are designed with the employment of a variety of techniques including lectures, case study tutorials, psychomotor skills training, laboratory sessions, teamwork strategies and supervised practical training. Sixty percent of the modules comprise of tested practical skills. These learning strategies would facilitate self-directed study and encourage continuous life-long learning. |
