About the Programme

The Foundation in Science is a program specially designed for students who wish to pursue basic degree in Medicine or Pharmacy at CUCMS. The subjects covered are specially chosen in applications to their intended programs. The subjects include Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Communication Skills, and Introduction to Medicine and Pharmacy. The syllabi are designed with close supervision of the faculties and classes are taught by competent instructors.

A novel instructional approach referred to as Student-Centered Learning (SCL) is used at this level and the same learning system applies at all academic programs in CUCMS.

Unlike many other pre-medical programs, students in the Foundation in Science at CUCMS are already allocated places in the degree programs which they will undergo in 1 year’s time. However, they have to prove their abilities to the faculties by achieving minimum standard performance by the end of the Foundation studies in order to claim their allocated places.
