VISIT BY LEMBAGA FARMASI MALAYSIA (LFM) AND LEMBAGA AKREDITASI NEGARA (LAN)
On December 6 th 2005, Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) received a visit from Jawatankuasa Pengiktirafan & Pendaftaran Ahli Farmasi dan Pertubuhan Perbadanan (JKIP) of LFM and LAN. The team of six, led by Prof. Dr. Aishah Adam, also consist of Mr Lai Lim Swee (Deputy Director of Pharmacy Service, M'sia and Secretary of LFM), Prof. Dr. P.T Thomas, Assoc. Prof Dr. Chua Siew Siang, Mr. Baharuddin Baba, and Mr. Abdul Saman Taip from LAN.
8 a.m. saw the arrival of the representatives from JKIP and LAN. The group was welcomed by Prof Dr Shaharuddin Mohd, the Dean of Pharmacy before gathering at CUCMS Board Room for a pre-evaluation discussion.
The guests were introduced to YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr Johari Mat, President of CUCMS followed by a presentation by Dr Mohammad Salmi Mohd Sohod, Provost of CUCMS. A brief comment was made from Mr. Lai on the escalating growth of pharmacy schools in Malaysia . Prof Dr Shaharuddin Mohd then addressed the guests on the uniqueness of CUCMS pharmacy programme. The guests were then introduced to the academic staff of CUCMS followed by a Q&A session.
The details of the programmes offered were also explained by Prof Dr Abdul Latiff Mohamed, the Dean of Clinical, Research and Foundation Programme.
After the briefing session, the guests toured the campus to visit the facilities available such as the library, computer lab, anatomy museum, science laboratories and PBL rooms.
The main objective of the visit was to evaluate and give feedback on CUCMS facilities as well as the pharmacy programme. The visit and briefing session ended at 1.30 p.m.
